This thesis aims to analyze the relationship between art and politics within the framework of the concept of memory. The way artists transfer the social events they witnessed during their time to their works and the relationship between these works and the concepts of social memory and counter-memory constitute the focus of the thesis. Memory, one of the most controversial concepts of our time, is also very important for the relationship between art and politics. Art, besides being a product of the memory, also has the task of transmitting and preserving memory. Throughout its history, art has often been used as a tool to shape and preserve social memory. The research topic of this thesis is to investigate how artists produce a counter-memory by transferring their testimony to social events to their works. In the personal artistic works carried out during this research process, the relationships between technique, form and content were analyzed in line with the contributions of art to forms of counter-memory production. In today's fast-paced and chaotic world, the events and images that intermingle in our minds were tried to be expressed in a way to create a plastic value and to be associated in the context of counter-memory. Thus, the relationship between art, history and politics was re-examined through the concept of memory.
