Abstract
Historically, one of the subjects on which the most ideas and theories have been produced by humanity is the phenomenon of "death" over the soul-body relationship. The human being, who first wonders about herself/himself, then looks into the people around her/him, and subsequently strives for continuous improvement after perception, has become the best person to adapt to the conditions at all times, sometimes consciously and sometimes unconsciously. Besides the human being, who sees that the body is a purely biological entity with the death of those around her/him, tries to explain this obscurity by making various interpretations when she/he witnesses decay and disintegration afterwards. This is the reason why different applications are made to the dead body in different beliefs. The body has been first intellectually and then physically disintegrated, and has taken its place in art with its social and periodical perspectives. In this Master's Work of Art, under the title of "Approaching Death In Art With Body Parts", the body and its place in art will first be examined as "body integrity" in order to explain the disintegrated body in a more understandable way. In the relevant chapters, concepts such as "body", "death", "disintegration" will be examined in terms of history, philosophy, medicine, beliefs, and art. Although the idea of the disintegration of the body, as well as the perception of body integrity, has in fact existed since the creation of humanity, how it changes according to periodic factors, how this understanding, which has changed until today by being associated with the phenomenon of death, takes shape today will be supported by examples of artworks and readings.
