Abstract

Every art period contains the effects of the time period in which it was produced. Because the artist reflects all kinds of positive or negative situations in his/her life in his/her art. This report examines how the concept of activism, which deals with the problems of life and protests these problems with an activist attitude, is handled by artists. Within the scope of the report, activist art productions were examined and the focus was on activist language used as an effective tool in the activist art productions in which the research was customized. In the selected examples, the artists who brought forms of language production and dissemination to the field of art were analyzed through their working processes and artistic actions. The practices of artists who use language as a tool against certain authorities and try to convey messages to the masses in this way were included. In the last part of the report, works produced using activist language, which is the common point of the subject, and which refer to the art market and the problems of life, are described.
