Abstract
In our thesis, we exerted to find out the fundamentals of war historiography based on war histories relating to Greco-Ottoman War (1897) written in the era of Abdülhamit II.. Before ascertaining the bases, forms, content, extent and principals of the term war historiography, we tried to reveal the historical course of war history phenomenon came to our research period. The major factors that makes our research heads for are the facts that the war history has no plain or isolated form and was being affected incessantly by historical thought and progress. Futhermore, in this historical course we try to determine the issue, concept and disciplines that war history get in touch, so that we can’t clarify the understanding of term war history without making clear the position of war history to the military history. We determined the features of the production course of war history information and information as output with the findings that we attained. Then according to our observations, we understood that fundamentals of our war history is consistent as a whole and utilizing the term military decision-making progress as a model. And also observed that war history produces its information by means of the term art of war. Due to the fact that war history uses the term art of war as both validating and analyzing tool, we decided to describe the term art of war principles that our war history treatises reflect.
