Hastanelerde Çalışan Kurum Ev İdaresi Personelinin Göreli Yoksunluk Duygusunun Performansa Etkisinin İncelenmesi

This study was planned and conducted to determine the relationship between the feeling of relative deprivation and perceived individual performances and job performance of hospital housekeeping personnel. The population of the study consists of all hospitals that have accepted to operate under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey and universities with a bed capacity higher than 50, located in the city center of Ankara, except hospitals that are specialized in certain areas and private hospitals within the boundaries of Ankara province. The study includes 3 training and research hospitals, 1 university hospital and 2 state hospitals affiliated to the Public Hospitals Association. A questionnaire was applied to a total of 949 institutional housekeeping personnel. The questionnaire form applied in the study consists of four sections. The first part included the questions aimed at determining some individual characteristics of hospital housekeeping personnel. In the second part of the questionnaire, the Turkish adaptation of the “Relative Deprivation Scale” developed by Callan, Shead, and Olson (2011) was used to determine the relative deprivation levels of the personnel. In the third part of the questionnaire, the “Employee Performance Scale”, which was developed by Sigler and Pearson (2000) and of which validity and reliability studies for the Turkish version were carried out by Çöl (2008), was used. In the fourth part of the questionnaire, the “Job Performance Scale”, which was developed by Eisenberger et al. (1986) and of which validity and reliability studies for the Turkish version were carried out by Kurt (2013), was used. When the general average of the scales was examined, it was determined that the average deprivation score of the institutional housekeeping personnel was below the “medium level”. There was a low-level statistically significant relationship in the negative direction between the “relative deprivation scale” and “perceived individual performance scale” and extra-role job performance sub-dimension (p<0.05).
