Books”. The study includes 15 story books both written and illustrated by Oral
between 1993 and 2017. The aim of this study is to perform formal, contextual and
artistic analyses of illustrations and texts of Oral's 15 story books. For document
analysis, “Picture and Text Analysis Items” were created by making use of

study was tried to be ensured by expert opinions and the reliability of the study
was ensured by the internal consistency of the evaluations performed by another
person besides the researcher. The internal consistency between the researcher
and the other field expert's evaluations was 0.92, which is a very high level of
reliability. According to the findings of the study, when the illustrations were
examined, 91% of them were formal; 80% in terms of content and 99% in terms of
artistic aspects were given in accordance with these qualities. Other way, 97% of
the texts in terms of formal analysis; 94% in context; 92% of the artistic qualities
